Like vs “like like” in Spanish

In this video you will see the mistake that most of my students do where they say “Me gusta mi amiga” (I like my friend) when you are trying to say I like my friend in Spanish, which it means “mi amiga me cae bien”.

The first way we can explain it is that “caer bien/mal” is to fall into someone’s grace, to me caes bien or you fall into my grace. Therefore the grammar would be in the following chart
